About this post:
Another SXSW post from Dave Perks, this one links to the full podcast of Merlin Mann and John Gruber's discussion on blogging and social media.

I think I finally figured it out. The reason I've started and stopped this blog post so many times is because I'm trying to wrap up everything that Merlin Mann and John Gruber had to say about blogging and social media when you can actually just listen to it for yourself right here:
You can download their talk as a podcast. Total run time is about an hour (otherwise known as: Lunch).
Here are a few highlights to get you interested. Just for fun, I'm not crediting the quotes. You'll just have to listen to see who said what. Never let it be said that I spoon feed my audiences.
"Social media isn't tweeting about your run. It's someone telling you to stop tweeting about your run."
"Walt Disney said, 'We don't make movies to make money, we make money to make more movies.'"
"The dirty little secret is that it shouldn't matter to you what I have to say if I'm not in the circle of people you're trying to impress."
There are other thoughts and ideas in here that are fantastic. Take a listen and you'll find them. Enjoy.
