Med Students Gettin' Down

Often, when we begin working with a new client, we feel like their tacit, unspoken plea is “Make Us Look Cool, PLEASE!”
Well, we just began work with University of Texas Southwestern and they already are very, very cool. We’re redesigning and re-architecting their .edu site and integrating their student, faculty, staff, research and patient informational areas into a more comprehensive overview of the offerings of the University. Did you know that UTSW is home to four active Nobel Prize winners- more than any other medical school in the world? We have enjoyed getting to know their team and working with Scheria Belmer, their project leader. (She’s a Hokie!) So be looking for more posts about the progress of that project and a showcase of the finished product.
Daimon Caulk, one of our prized UX resources here at NewCity, found this video made by some 2nd year medical students. 3rd, 4th and 5th year medical students are too tired to take on a task like this! Anyhow, we have cracked up over it and thought you might enjoy it too! IN the background of some of the scenes you can see the stunning Dale Chihuly glass sculpture in the Seay Biomedical Building
We’ll bet that your school has lots of videos, pictures, blogs just like this that highlight the creativity and spirit of your student body. Don’t be afraid to shine a light on the fun things your students create on the web. Experience that’s genuine makes your school more appealing, approachable and allows prospective students to imagine themselves as part of the group of cool people who have fun like this.
Enjoy!
