Rodger Bridges

Director of Design

Rodger brings over two decades of experience in user-driven design, UX, and front-end development for a diverse range of brands, clients, and products to his role as Director of Design at NewCity.

His broad design experience, combined with a hands-on understanding of UX and development are core drivers in his commitment to creating beautiful, functional, user-centered solutions, tailored to each new design challenge.

In a previous life, he channeled his creativity (and teen angst) through punk rock, skateboarding, and creating zines. Those very same zines landed him his first “real” job, at Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. As a dubiously dubbed Assistant Art Director on the cusp of the digital revolution, he was apprenticed in modes of pre-computed print design.

Several years of print work and an SE-30 or two later, he read about Mosaic and the ability to display images on the internet and started focusing exclusively on interactive web design. The years that followed included several start-up, agency, and freelance positions designing for major brands including Nike, Adidas, Bacardi-Martini, Bombardier Ski-Doo/Sea-Doo, HP, and Cisco, along with work in higher education, nonprofits, and healthcare.

When not spending time with his family and familiars, Rodger can be found tinkering on some project involving fonts, photography, or hacked together imagery and sound. He doesn’t mind the occasional necessity to speak in the third person and looks forward to working with you in the near future.
