Virtual Virginia is an important program of the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) that provides equal access to online education opportunities for students and educators throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Virtual Virginia (VVA) wanted to redesign their website to better serve the needs of their multiple audiences. The previous site wasn’t vibrant and didn’t support storytelling or the ability to easily publish news and content updates. It also lacked clarity around VVA’s academic program offerings and didn’t support the teacher recruiting process or clarify the Virginia certification process.

The new site adheres to a strong and cohesive visual identity that is meant to spark excitement with student learners, their guardians, school officials, and other influencers. Together, we also focused on providing the ability to enhance course descriptions and create dynamic, searchable, and interactive course listings.

VVA continues to grow at a rapid pace and the new site is built to support the future expansion of its resources and academic programs.

“Our new Virtual Virginia website is superb in both design and functionality, thanks to the NewCity team’s fabulous work. They took time to learn the ins and outs of our online K–12 program and created a beautiful website that meets our needs.”
